The Valley of Mists is a sensual journey to the heart of the wild nature, to a land in a river valley and vast ponds. You will not find it on any map. Nights and days are twined here with wind and rain, covered in a light of the moon, weaved by the mist and the rising sun. They are loud with the clanging of cranes, crying of geese and seagulls, wings flapping on the water, swan songs, singing of grebes, and shrill cries of the white-tailed eagle.
We are taking you to a great mystery of nature, namely to Migratory Birds’ life and journeys. You will see and hear the Barycz Valley, its Oder estuary and Milicz Ponds, which are an important stop on the route of the Bird Wanderers. The combination of light and sound will allow you to take a full plunge in and feel the power of unique moments which can be found only here, in the Valley of Mists.
The photo album is a selection of photographs gathered throughout four years of observation, blending in the wild nature, accompanying birds during their everyday activities and the perennial nature rhythms but also witnessing dramas taking place in the nature. It is a magic of dawns, a play of light and mist, a transience of being which you want to keep for longer, preserve, and remember.
The sound album presents a few dozen minutes of uncut recordings of the wild nature. Intimate sound atmospheres document the bird life on Lower Silesia oxbow lakes and ponds, revive the protagonists and show the full mood of the moments captured on the photographs.
