The Wild Rivers consists of soundscapes, which are characteristic for rivers that flow with a free and
stable rhythm.
When recording these pieces I wanted the diversity of nature’s sounds to be preserved; along with birds,
animals, insects and atmospheric phenomena that appear in these places least affected by a human
presence.
I wandered with the microphone along the banks of 12 rivers at both high and low water levels.
Whether in a canoe or on foot, I went through backwaters, into swamps, walked on riverside meadows
and forests close to these rivers.
These wanderings brought me to the conclusion that the river is a powerful ecosystem, where various
species interact and are dependent on others, all fulfilling life-giving roles.
When field recording, I was looking for moments where one can hear the natural expression of nature, the
hardships of winter, harmonious, pulsating polyphonic summer and autumn choirs.
These choirs sound close to what we generally call “music”, they sound fundamental like the very
beginning of music.
Even tough these pieces are only captured “moments”, I hope that they create a universal sound panorama
of a wild river.
I wanted to record sounds that are natural and timeless.
The world of nature sings.

Dzikie Rzeki, dźwiękowy album przyrody od strony
wody to kompilacja nadrzecznych pejzaży
dźwiękowych charakterystycznych dla swobodnie
płynącej rzeki.
Nagrywając je, kierowałem się chęcią zachowania
różnorodności dźwięków przyrody i głosów ptaków,
zwierząt, owadów i zjawisk atmosferycznych z miejsc
najmniej najmniej dotkniętych obecnością człowieka.
Wędrowałem z mikrofonem brzegami 12 rzek przy
wysokich i niskich stanach wód. W canoe lub pieszo,
na rozlewiskach, bagnach, w nadrzecznych łąkach i
lasach łęgowych.
Dzięki tym wędrówkom zrozumiałem, że rzeka jest
potężnym ekosystemem międzygatunkowych
zależności pełniąc życiodajną rolę.
W terenie szukałem momentu, w którym słychać
naturalną dźwiękową ekspresję przyrody, zimowy trud,
harmonijnie pulsujące wielogłosowe chóry lata i jesieni,
którym nie tyle blisko do muzyki, co okazują się być
muzyki bezpośrednim rodowodem.
Chciałem nagrać dźwięki, które w swoim brzmieniu są
ponadczasowe i choć wiem że są tylko krótkim zapisem
chwili wierzę że tworzą uniwersalną panoramę dzikiej
rzeki.
Tym razem Świat natury ma głos.
